Olio, a British food-sharing app that connects neighbors, volunteers, and businesses willing to share surplus food, has announced recruiting a full C-suite team with prior experience in the tech and consumer sector. The hiring comes amidst Olio’s expansion plans and target to reach one billion users by 2030.
The new hires include:
Chief Brand Officer Iona Carter who was a brand strategist at Plum Guide
Chief Product Officer Alex Higgs, with prior experience at Just Eat and TripAdvisor
Managing Director of Olio’s Food Waste Heroes program Alberto Lo Bue, with experience in leading a program at Deliveroo and as a strategist at Uber
Director of International Expansion (focusing on Mexico, Singapore, and Ireland) Tess Kermode who held senior positions at Citigroup and Uber
Chief Technology Officer Fabían Díaz, a former software development manager at Amazon
Director of Growth Gareth Main, a former employee at The Guardian’s revenue strategy team
People and Culture Director Thaisa Money, with prior experience at Geckoboard and Capitalise.com
Chief of Staff Rohan Sheth, a former investment banker and strategy consultant
The company expects the new hires to drive growth in its business. The company has over five million members registered on its app and has seen listings on its app increase 5x since early 2020.
