French quantum hardware startup Pasqal has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Saudi Arabian energy and chemicals company Aramco to develop quantum-enhanced solutions for the energy sector and build Saudi Arabia’s quantum ecosystem.
As per the agreement, both parties will work on developing new quantum and AI applications to solve real-world practical problems such as network optimization and management. The partnership will also identify new use cases across Aramco’s business by leveraging Pasqal’s neutral atom-based hardware capabilities and expertise.
Through the partnership, which makes Aramco the first company to explore quantum technologies in the energy sector, the oil giant intends to incorporate Pasqal’s systems in its training programs. Pasqal also plans to grow its operational presence in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East region.
