Burger King trials vegan outlet in London; La Vie’s vegan bacon makes UK debut

Product updates

  • Burger King announced that it is converting its branch in Leicester Square, London, to a fully vegan restaurant for a one-month trial, starting from March 14, 2022.

  • The company claims that the restaurant will offer its biggest plant-based menu (as of March 2022) consisting of 25 items (including plant-based whopper, Vegan Royale, vegan bacon double cheeseburger, chicken nuggets, chili cheese bites, Vegan Katsu Royale, and Plant-Based Katsu Chili Whopper), along with a kids menu. Further, French startup La Vie’s vegan bacon will be part of the menu (marking its UK debut) and vegan dairy producer Violife will be the vegan cheese partner.

  • This vegan offering is part of Burger King’s goal to be 50% meat-free by 2030. The company claims that the entire menu is plant-based despite some products not carrying the vegan trademark.
