1PointFive, a direct air capture (DAC) joint venture that uses Carbon Engineering’s technology, announced that Airbus has pre-purchased 400,000 metric tons of carbon removal credits from its first DAC facility in Permian Basin, US.
According to the agreement, Airbus has agreed to pre-purchase capture and permanent sequestration of 100,000 metric tons of CO2 from the atmosphere annually for four years, along with an option to secure more in the future.
1PointFive is a joint venture between Oxy Low Carbon Ventures and Rasheen Capital Management to scale Carbon Engineering’s DAC technology.
