CropX, a developer of a crop management platform providing predictions on soil and weather, has announced that HELM AG, a Germany-based multinational chemical company, has invested an undisclosed amount in the company.
Following the investment, the two companies entered into a strategic partnership to combine their technologies to expand CropX’s fertilizer management and crop protection product offerings.
HELM AG offers a digital precision farming product called “SKYFLD” that monitors fields using satellite imagery to provide precision spraying recommendations. HELM AG has also invested in Germany-based smart farming startup Plantix to develop an app to track plant health.
According to the partnership, CropX will use SKYFLD and the Plantix app to provide its farmers with enhanced soil data analysis capabilities. HELM AG will also market CropX as a preferred partner to its customers by Q3 2022.
Analyst QuickTake : CropX has been continuously focusing on developing its product offering. This strategic partnership follows a string of acquisitions completed over the past two years: Nebraska-based cloud-based precision irrigation tool provider CropMetrics to strengthen its product offering in the US, Regen to expand services to New Zealand, and Dutch crop management platform Dacom Farm Intelligence to enter the European market.
