Gatik partners with ChargePoint to offer charging points for autonomous trucks

Partnerships

 • Gatik, an autonomous truck developer for middle-mile delivery, has partnered with ChargePoint, an electric vehicle (EV) charging network, to offer charging infrastructure and related services for Gatik’s customers in the US and Canada.

 • As per the deal, Gatik’s customers will get access to ChargePoint’s infrastructure and consultant services such as in-site design and interoperability validation. Gatik will also have access to a nationwide network of charging stations, fleet-specific software with customizable telematics intelligence for its customers, and modular charging hardware to minimize costs.

Analyst QuickTake: So far, Gatik has partnered with several companies including Walmart and Loblaw to conduct autonomous delivery pilots in both the US and Canada—to whom today’s partnership will be beneficial. Last July, commercial vehicle manufacturers, Volvo Group, Daimler Truck, and Volkswagen's Traton Group also partnered to build and operate a high-performance public charging network for battery electric heavy-duty trucks and buses across Europe.
