Optibus grows its presence in Latin America; solutions adopted by 1,000 cities

Geographic expansion

  • Optibus, a mobility planning and management platform specializing in city-based bus travel, announced that it has expanded its presence in Latin America with the opening up of a new office in Santiago, Chile. This is the second office Optibus established in Latin America; the first being in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

  • Optibus’ customers in the region include Metbus, the largest public transit operator (PTO) in Chile, operating ~25% of Santiago’s public transport system with the largest eBus fleet in the Americas. Optibus stated that Santiago is the 1,000th city to adopt its platform.

  • It is noteworthy that even though Metbus had already built and implemented a complete charging management system for its 1,500+ fleet, Optibus had been selected for its electric vehicle (EV) planning and scheduling system, capable of optimizing large vehicle fleets.
