Wire raises USD 21 million in Series B funding

  • Berlin-based collaboration platform Wire announced that it raised USD 21 million in a Series B funding round led by UVC Partners.

  • The funds will help boost hiring and further tech development. The company claims that its revenue grew threefold in 2020 while its customer base increased by 50%. 

  • Wire provides features such as secure chat, encrypted conference calls, and file sharing across all devices. The company’s offerings include video calls with high-quality screen sharing capabilities and one-on-one and group chats that allow voice and video messages. The platform takes pride in its superior security measures and is 100% open source. As of April 2021, the company has over 1,800 government and corporate customers including EY, Fortum, the German government, and four other G7 governments. Wire has offices in Switzerland, the US, and Sweden.
