Climeworks, a Swiss direct air capture (DAC) startup, raised CHF 600 million (USD 650 million) in an equity funding round co-led by Partners Group and GIC. The round brings Climeworks' total funding to USD 784 million.
The company expects to use the proceeds to scale up its DAC capacities and to deploy large-scale facilities.
The round was also supported by new investors Baillie Gifford, Carbon Removal Partners, Global Founders Capital, John Doerr, M&G, Swiss Re, and others. Existing investor BigPoint Holding also participated.
