Bluu Seafood (formerly Bluu Biosciences), the first European cultivated seafood startup, has partnered with CellX, a Shanghai-based cell-cultured meat startup to commercialize cultivated meat products in their respective countries—Germany and China.
The companies will support each other in expanding to their respective markets, which includes supplying raw materials, constructing production facilities, and potential sales partnerships. They also plan to promote consumer acceptance and establish supply partnerships for cultivated meat products and work toward obtaining regulatory approval for the commercialization of cultivated meat and seafood. It was reported that Bluu Seafood will present a finished product later this year, while CellX is expanding into beef and poultry.
