Fluence acquires Nispera to scale up its energy management systems

M&A

  • Fluence, a company offering long-duration energy storage solutions and AI-enabled energy storage optimization software, has acquired Nispera, a Swiss AI-based data analytics provider of renewable energy assets, to expand its digital management systems.

  • The acquisition will scale up Fluence’s digital portfolio to 15 gigawatts of energy contracted or under management and will develop new applications on Fluence’s IQ platform.

  • The acquisition integrates Fluence’s IQ platform with Nispera’s applications to offer customers an innovative solution, known as the “manage app.” This involves a customer-centric aggregation of all other apps to manage and optimize energy and storage assets.

  • The agreement is expected to close during Q3 2022 and is subject to customary closing conditions. The transaction involves an all-cash buyout of approximately USD 30 million for existing Nispera investors and the issuing of restricted stock to Nispera’s management with three-year retention.
