Agility Robotics, a developer of bipedal robots, has raised USD 150 million in a Series B funding round led by DCVC and Playground Global with participation from Amazon Industrial Fund, MFV Partners, ITIC, Robotics Hub, Safar Partners, and TDK Ventures. The round brings the company’s total funds raised to USD 178.8 million.
The company plans to utilize funds to fast-track R&D; ramp up production and delivery of its next-generation robot; double its team by 2024; open a new facility in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and expand its existing Oregon facilities and Palo Alto, California operations. It plans to deploy the latest units at customers’ sites later this year.
Agility Robotics droids are primarily used for warehouse operations today but the company plans to introduce them for last-mile delivery.
