AISTI, a Finland-based startup developing carbon-negative wood-fiber-based acoustic tiles, has raised EUR 1.6 million (USD 1.72 million) in a funding round led by Maki.vc. A group of investors assembled by Valve Ventures also joined the round.
The new funds will be used toward product development and are also expected to support AISTI in the construction of a demo plant and pave the way for a larger investment for the construction of a full-scale production plant.
AISTI reports that its first customers include large architectural firms and that it has received positive feedback from developers and construction companies on its prototype tile.
Following the round, Pirkka Palomäki, partner at Maki.vc, and Eerik Paasikivi, partner at Valve Ventures, joined AISTI’s board of directors.
