 <p>Tokyo-based firm CREEK &amp; RIVER, specializing in outsourcing, consulting, content management, and distribution services, has bought VR headset manufacturer Shiftall from Panasonic for an undisclosed sum. Previously creating niche consumer devices, Shiftall began developing VR hardware with Panasonic and produced products like the MeganeX PC VR headset and mutalk soundproof microphones.</p>
 <p>Post-acquisition, Shiftall will maintain its current product line, assuring no changes in offerings, warranties, or customer services. Also, the launch of upcoming products like the MeganeX superlight VR headset is planned to continue as planned.</p>

 <p>Blue Yonder, a Panasonic subsidiary and supply chain solutions provider, has unveiled its largest update with a suite of interoperable solutions covering all supply chain aspects. It aims to streamline and coordinate planning and execution of supply chain processes. This includes unifying sourcing, production, logistics, and network strategies. Also, it synchronizes demand, capacity, transportation, and maintains real-time inventories. All these are built on the Luminate Cognitive platform, which offers a real-time digital representation of the supply chain for improved decision making.</p>

 <p>Shiftall, under Panasonic, unveiled its new VR headset, Meganex Superlight, with a 2024 release date. The PCVR device features an OLED microdisplay, a 2,560 x 2,560 pixel resolution per eye, a 10-bit HDR color gamut, a 120 Hz frame rate, and SteamVR tracking. It lacks inside-out tracking cameras, speakers, and temples. Connectivity is via Displayport and USB 2.0. </p> 
 <p>Shiftall also announced the Haritora X Wireless R full-body tracking system with a 20-hour battery life and the Mutalk 2, a USD 200 soundproof microphone. The latter is set to launch in May 2024.</p>

Nevada e-waste recycling startup, Redwood Materials, has partnered with Panasonic to recycle critical minerals from used EV batteries. The collaboration is aimed at obtaining battery materials and reducing CO2 emissions. The focus is on extracting high-purity nickel from end-of-life batteries and supplying it to Panasonic Energy by 2028. The companies also plan to explore the recycling of cobalt and lithium. The project will leverage Redwood Materials' factory in Nevada, where they already recycle defective batteries and scraps from Panasonic Energy. This partnership follows Panasonic Energy's previous agreement with Redwood Materials to purchase cathode-active materials and copper foil for EV lithium-ion batteries.
