Q-CTRL partners with IBM, Rigetti, Oxford Quantum Circuits, and Diraq for quantum software integration

  • Australian quantum software startup Q-CTRL has partnered with four major quantum computing platforms to integrate its Fire Opal performance management software. The integration will enable Q-CTRL's Fire Opal to be natively available on IBM Quantum services, Rigetti Quantum Cloud Services, Oxford Quantum Circuits Cloud QCaaS devices, and Diraq's silicon quantum processors.

  • This collaboration aims to improve quantum computing performance by minimizing errors and simplifying hardware operation, potentially enabling more complex quantum algorithms and applications.

  • Analyst QuickTake: The partnerships, built on long-term relationships and demonstrations of Fire Opal's capabilities, have shown significant improvements in quantum computing performance. For example, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation reported a 5x increase in achievable circuit width for Quantum Phase Estimation studies using Fire Opal on IBM Quantum systems. Additionally, in June 2024 , Q-CTRL demonstrated a significant 4x increase in the capacity of IBM's utility-scale quantum computers to solve optimization problems accurately.
