Energy Vault to set up 100 MW energy storage project in Sardinia

 <p>Energy Vault, a Swiss company listed on the NYSE that specialises in long-duration energy storage, has secured a contract with ACEN Australia, a developer of renewable assets. The contract is for two battery energy storage systems (BESS) that have a combined total of 400 MWh in Australia.</p>
 <p>The agreements Energy Vault has signed with ACEN cover engineering, procurement, construction (known as EPC), and operations and maintenance (O&amp;M). These agreements are for the procurement, construction, operation, and ongoing maintenance of a 200 MW/400 MWh BESS at ACEN’s New England Solar project.</p>
 <p>Energy Vault will oversee the construction of ACEN Australia’s BESS in New South Wales, under the New England project. Construction is scheduled to commence in 2024 and is expected to be fully operational by 2026.</p>

 <p>Energy Vault, a Swiss long-duration energy storage company listed on NYSE, has announced the successful testing and deployment of the Rudong EVx gravity energy storage system (GESS) by China Tianying. The Rudong 25 MW/100 MWh EVx system is the world’s first commercial, grid-scale gravity energy storage system. The testing was conducted following its mechanical completion in September 2023 and its interconnection with the state grid in December 2023.</p>
 <p>The company's EVx platform is a scalable and modular solution, with the capacity to scale up to multi-GW-hour storage. Apart from its deployment in China, Energy Vault is also implementing this technology in Egypt, Greece, and amongst the South African Development Community.</p>

Together, they have initiated commercial operations of the 220 MW Reid Gardner Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) located in Moapa, Nevada.</p>
<p>The BESS, which can store energy for 2 hours, is among Nevada's largest. It has been designed to store and dispatch surplus renewable energy from sources like wind and solar power. The operation of this system is handled by NV Energy, using Energy Vault's integration platform and energy management system, referred to as Vault-OS.</p>
