May Mobility has partnered with the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) to launch an autonomous micro-transit service in Martinez, California in early 2024. The goal is to improve access to healthcare for the local community. May Mobility will provide seven autonomous vehicles, including three wheelchair-accessible models, which will be integrated into the CCTA's transportation network. Via, a TransitTech company, will power the service, allowing riders to book on-demand autonomous vehicle rides through the May Mobility app or by phone. This marks May Mobility's first entry into California, adding to their operations in Michigan, Minnesota, Texas, and Arizona.
