Canva has announced two important updates to its pricing structure. It is extending discontinued pricing for early Canva Teams adopters and introducing a new Pricing Promise to guide future decisions.
Canva maintains the original pricing for early Canva Teams users, allowing them to keep their current rate with no action required. This decision came after the company initially planned to transition existing subscribers to the current standard pricing of USD 10/month per person, starting at three people.
The company has also introduced a new pricing promise, which includes principles such as always affordable options, value-packed features, advance and transparent notice of price changes, fair regional pricing, and no hidden fees. Canva claims these measures will ensure transparency, fairness, and accessibility.
Analyst QuickTake: In September 2024, Canva's substantial price increase for its Teams product sparked considerable backlash, raising concerns about its reputation as a cost-effective alternative to other design software. In response, Canva has introduced a pricing promise, signaling efforts to rebuild its brand image and retain its user base.
