AcreShield raises USD 2.5 million in Series A funding to develop AI seed selection technology

Funding

  • AcreShield, an AI seed selection platform, has raised over USD 2.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Vertical Ventures Inc., with participation from InnoVenture Iowa. The board of directors has authorized an additional USD 2 million for the Series A round.

  • The company reports that the funding will further develop AcreShield's AI technology, "Yield Optimizer," which claims to provide farmers with smarter seed selection and guaranteed ROI performance.

  • AcreShield's Yield Optimizer is claimed to be the first commercially accepted AI seed selection program for yield prediction using independent seed performance data. The company aims to address the "Yield Gap" problem faced by row crop farmers, targeting what it claims is a 180-million-acre opportunity in the US alone.
