Cibus, an agricultural biotechnology company, has partnered with Biographica, a UK-based AI-focused biotechnology company, to identify gene editing targets for developing disease-resistant traits in oilseed rape and canola crops.
The partners report that Biographica will use its AI and machine learning platform to analyze gene targets associated with disease resistance, while Cibus will apply its crop editing expertise to develop the traits.
The pilot project aims to accelerate the development of crop varieties with improved disease-resistance traits for commercial farming applications.
