Ubotica partners with Kongsberg to develop autonomous AI-powered satellites

Partnerships

  • Ubotica, an autonomous AI-enabled satellite technology developer, has partnered with Kongsberg NanoAvionics, a subsidiary of Kongsberg Gruppen and small satellite mission integrator, to enhance operational efficiency and data delivery in Earth observation (EO) and defense sectors.

  • By integrating Ubotica's SPACE:AI processing solutions, including its CogniSAT-CRC technology, NanoAvionics aims to advance satellite operations with features such as autonomous cloud removal, data compression, ship detection, and oil slick monitoring. This technology reduces downlink costs by up to 85% and supports near-real-time decision-making with mission-critical insights.

  • With this partnership, Kongsberg NanoAvionics introduces edge AI as a standard feature, pioneering a pay-as-you-go pricing approach to balance costs over the satellite’s lifespan.
