Truck manufacturer Daimler Truck has secured EUR 226 million (USD 239 million) in funding from Germany's Ministry for Digital and Transport (BDMV) and the federal states of Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate.
The funding will be used for the development, small-scale production, and customer adoption of 100 hydrogen fuel cell trucks as well as assessing infrastructural needs for fuel cell trucks.
The funding comes from the European Union's Important Project of Common European Interest (IPCEI) Hydrogen program, which supports the development and production of vehicles.
