Bollinger B4 electric truck gets USD 60,000 CARB incentive approval

 <p>Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) has partnered with Detroit Diesel Corp, a subsidiary of Daimler, to introduce its first battery-electric Freightliner eCascadia in Redford, Michigan. The electric truck will be managed by Load One LLC, a provider of freight solutions.</p>
 <p>Designed to transport goods between Detroit's offsite warehouse and the production facility in Redford, the eCascadia offers a standard range of 220 miles before needing to be recharged at the Detroit Logistics Center. Daimler Truck launches first electric Freightliner eCascadia in Michigan

 <p>Hyzon, a provider of hydrogen fuel-cell technology, has successfully conducted a two-week trial of its Class 8 200 kW fuel-cell electric vehicle (FCEV) truck with IMC Logistics. The vehicle covered over 1,000 miles in the Houston market during this period.</p>
 <p>IMC Logistics gave positive reviews from drivers involved in the trial. This test is part of their research into the use of hydrogen fuel cell technology within their fleet based in Texas.</p>
 <p>This trial is a component of a broader testing initiative by Hyzon. The company has undertaken eight successful trials of its 200 kW Class 8 and refuse truck platforms since July 2024. Hyzon also has 20 large fleet trials in progress for its truck platforms, scheduled to go on until February 2025.</p>

 <p>Volvo Trucks has launched two new active safety systems, Active Side Collision Avoidance Support and next-generation Collision Warning with Emergency Brake system. These technology aim to protect cyclists and pedestrians and will be available globally on Volvo's FH, FM, and FMX truck models.</p>
 <p>The first system, Active Side Collision Avoidance Support, employs radar sensors to identify cyclists coming close to the truck. It can actively brake the vehicle to prevent collisions when turning toward the passenger side. Meanwhile, the next-generation Collision Warning with Emergency Brake system uses a combination of camera and radar sensors to keep track of traffic, identify potential hazards, alert drivers, and auto brake if required.</p>
 <p>Starting 2025, the emergency brake system will be a standard feature for the FH, FM and FMX trucks in Europe. However, the side collision avoidance system will be available for ordering from November 2024.</p>

Volvo Trucks launches collision avoidance systems for vulnerable road users

 <p>Autonomous truck manufacturer, Plus, has broadened its on-road testing of autonomous heavy-duty trucks with SuperDrive systems in Texas and Sweden, in collaboration with Traton Group's commercial truck brands. Currently, Plus places a safety driver in their self-driving trucks, but aims to shift to driverless trucks traveling between set hubs on particular highway routes.</p>
 <p>In the course of two years, Plus aims to validate its technology, work with truck manufacturers to craft autonomous-ready vehicle platforms, finalize the safety aspect of its technology, and begin testing for driverless operations around 2025 or 2026. Plus also has plans to commence commercial operations by 2027.</p>

Plus expands autonomous truck testing in Texas and Sweden

 <p>Aurora, a company specializing in autonomous trucking technology, has delayed its plans for driverless truck operations until April 2025. Originally, the company intended to launch these services in 2024, with driverless semi-trucks operating from Dallas to Houston.</p>
 <p>The goal for Aurora is to begin its autonomous operations with a fleet of 10 tractor-trailers and to increase this number by the end of 2025. Presently, struggles remain with surface street driving and managing freeway construction zones.</p>
 <p>The company relayed to investors that it has made significant advancements toward ensuring the safety of its trucks, having tested and validated performance for the majority of highway driving scenarios.</p>

Aurora delays driverless truck operations to April 2025

 <p>Drivewyze, a provider of weigh station bypass services, has formed a partnership with connected vehicle diagnostic solutions company EZ LYNK. The partnership will allow for the integration of bypass services into the EZ LYNK's ELD mobile application.</p>
 <p>Thanks to this partnership, EZ LYNK ELD customers will be given access to Drivewyze PreClear. This provides weigh station bypass options at nearly 900 locations throughout 48 states and provinces. The partnership also features the inclusion of Drivewyze Free. This offers safety notifications such as alerts for high-rollover risks, low bridges, mountains, and updates on traffic in real time.</p>
 <p>With the use of this integrated system, drivers are granted bypass permissions. These permissions are determined by the driver's safety scores, along with registration and tax compliance information. This integration is set to aid fleet operators in enhancing their operational efficiency.</p>
