CarbonFree launches zero-carbon mineral product Endurocal

 <p>Canadian carbon removal project developer, Deep Sky, has signed a carbon removal agreement with the Royal Bank of Canada and Microsoft. The deal entails the supply of 10,000 carbon removal credits.</p>
 <p>Deep Sky Labs will serve as a platform for testing and optimizing various DAC technologies, collaborating with eight partners: Airhive, Avnos, Phlair, Greenlyte, Mission Zero, NEG8 Carbon, Skyrenu, and Skytree.</p>
 <p>The objective of this partnership is to accelerate the development of cost-effective and scalable DAC technologies in Canada. The plan is to generate over USD 100 million in local investment in Innisfail, Alberta, over the forthcoming ten years.</p>

RBC and Microsoft partner with Deep Sky for carbon removal credits and DAC technology

 <p>The appeal court in The Hague has rescinded a 2021 judgment commanding Shell to reduce its carbon emissions by 45%. While recognising Shell's responsibility to limit emissions, the court declared it could not set a definitive reduction target.</p>
 <p>The landmark 2021 ruling was the first instance a court demanded a private corporation to comply with the Paris climate agreement. Shell contested the decision, pointing out that a global issue shouldn't be addressed by singling out one company.</p>
 <p>Shell is firm on its current objective to cut product carbon intensity between 15% and 20% from 2016 levels by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.</p>
 <p>Friends of the Earth Netherlands, the initial plaintiff along with 17,000 Dutch residents, plans to take the case to the Supreme Court. However, the conclusive verdict could still be years away.</p>

 <p>Carbon Clean has formed a partnership with Julius Montz, a Koch Engineered Solutions company, to produce and supply rotating packed bed components for the CycloneCC technology. As part of the agreement, Julius Montz will manufacture patented metal packing for the CycloneCC technology in Germany and distribute it worldwide via Koch Engineered Solutions' facilities. The partnership will also involve collaborative R&D to optimize designs and drive innovation towards commercialization.</p>
 <p>With this partnership, Carbon Clean can ensure a complete end-to-end supply chain for its CycloneCC technology. This will expedite the implementation of industrial carbon capture solutions by leveraging standardized, prefabricated, and skid-mounted units.</p>

 <p>The first site for the joint venture has been established in Greenwich, London. It has the capability to eliminate around 1,000 tons of CO2 annually by incorporating liquefied CO2 from biomass locations into destroyed concrete.</p>

 <p>Omani carbon mineralization startup, 44.01, has broadened its collaboration with ADNOC, an energy and petrochemicals group from Abu Dhabi. They aim to enlarge a carbon mineralization project following a successful pilot run in 2023.</p>
 <p>The team intends to expand CO2 mineralization for broader usage in the UAE. The aim of expanding this phase is to inject over 300 tons of CO2 using renewable energy from Masdar in order to establish commercial viability.</p>
 <p>This collaboration reinforces ADNOC's commitment to decarbonization projects, with a planned investment of USD 15 billion. Their objective is to reach a carbon capture capacity of 10 million tons annually by 2030.</p>

 <p>LanzaTech, a next-generation carbon transformation company listed on Nasdaq, is partnering with French mining and metallurgical group, Eramet, to establish a commercial-scale carbon capture and utilization facility in Norway. Situated at the Herøya Industrial Park in Porsgrunn, the facility is designed to produce 24 kilotons of fuel-grade ethanol every year. This production will utilize Eramet's furnace gas from its manganese alloy smelter. The project is set to become operational in 2028, with a possibility of integrating carbon capture and storage technology in the future for enhanced reduction of emissions.</p>

 <p>Spiritus, a direct air capture (DAC) startup, has revealed its first manufacturing facility, Garden One, in Lee's Summit, Missouri. This 37,500 sq ft facility is set to produce a unique sorbent material for CO2 capture and removal.</p>
 <p>The facility is specialized in producing a sorbent material referred to as "fruit" by the company. This material passively adsorbs CO2 from the environment and stores it in underground geological formations located at Carbon Orchard facilities. Notably, the material's structure takes after the human lung and it is designed for mass production, utilizing widespread available materials.</p>
