Lookout is a company that offers endpoint security focused on mobile devices. Its endpoint security offering uses artificial intelligence and behavior detection to protect mobile devices from apps, device and network threats. Lookout also offers an endpoint detection and response (EDR) platform which has capabilities to obtain telemetric data from iOS, Android and ChromeOS mobile devices and centrally monitor mobile endpoint devices to detect and respond to threats. As of March 2021, Lookout had carried out behavioral analysis from close to 200 million devices and more than 120 million apps.
In August 2023, the company introduced Lookout SAIL, a generative AI-powered assistant for its mobile endpoint and cloud security solutions. SAIL helps users navigate Lookout’s platforms, analyze telemetry, and provides cybersecurity information and tips.
The company acquired cloud security solutions provider CipherCloud in March 2021. This acquisition complemented Lookout’s existing endpoint offering, allowing it to offer a bundled solution providing both cloud and endpoint protection to its clients. In June 2022, Lookout acquired SaferPass, a password management company providing secure online identity solutions for both consumers and businesses. In April 2023, Lookout sold its consumer mobile security business—which develops a mobile antivirus app—to European cybersecurity firm F-Secure for ~USD 223 million, to focus on becoming a pure-play enterprise security firm.

Lookout’s says its solutions are used by thousands of organizations in sectors such as education, federal and local government, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing. The company’s key clients as of February 2024 included Lantum, Schneider Electric, and Airbus.
In January 2023, the company extended its partnership with Invanti to integrate Lookout’s Mobile Endpoint Security solution with Ivanti’s unified endpoint management platform—Ivanti Neurons. The mobile security solution helps to detect and mitigate cyber attacks such as mobile phishing and application malware, meet privacy and compliance requirements, deliver secure access to SaaS apps, and secure sensitive corporate data. The solution is available for Android, IOS, and Google Chrome OS devices.
Lookout has also entered into partnerships and product integrations with Google, Microsoft, Juniper Networks, and VMware.
Funding and financials
In June 2022, Lookout secured USD 150 million in debt funding from funds and accounts managed by BlackRock to support continued growth. The company also reported annual recurring revenue (ARR) growth of 56% year-over-year for FY2022.
