Crops Monitoring & Analytics
?

Agrology provides a predictive agricultural platform that enables farmers to monitor crops and receive predictive insights on irrigation, extreme weather, soil carbon respiration and sequestration, and pest and disease outbreaks. Agrology collects data in the fields of customers and then processes it using machine learning (ML) and AI models. The system forecasts up to four days in advance, allowing growers to use ground-truth data. Agrology claims it provides the first soil carbon respiration monitoring system, which offers critical real-time data on soil microbiome health and changes in soil carbon content. Agrology provides a subscription service that includes the installation and replacement of all sensors, real-time monitoring, and secure access to a farm’s data via the Agrology mobile app.

Key customers and partnerships

Key customers of Agrology include Braga Fresh, The Duckhorn Portfolio, Boisset Collection, Dana Estates, Emeritus Vineyards, Jordan Vineyards and Winery, Lawrence Vineyards, Renteria Vineyard Management, Signorello Estate, Silver Oak Vineyards, and various specialty farms.

In November 2021, the company partnered with smoke impact experts at UC Davis to develop the company’s smoke taint detection technology. In February 2022, the company partnered with Wyld Networks to gather data from remote locations and deliver that data quickly to Agrology customers, regardless of connectivity status. In September 2022, Agrology partnered with Google Cloud to monitor crops and receive predictions on irrigation, extreme weather, soil carbon respiration and sequestration, and pest and disease outbreaks.

Funding and financials

In January 2023 , Agrology announced that it was one of six partners to receive approximately USD 5 million in funding from the USDA's Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities initiative to develop climate-smart practices. In November 2022 , Agrology raised an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round led by Active Impact Investments. New investors, including Skyview Ventures, Phoenix Ventures Partners, and other syndicate investors, joined the round. The funds were to be used to hire new staff and expand the company’s reach across local and international markets.
