WFHomie (Acquired by GoCo)

WFHomie was an employee experience and people analytics platform built for remote-first companies. Founded in 2020, WFHomie aimed to leverage new datasets related to remote and flexible work to provide actionable employee engagement insights for companies. The platform offered virtual experiences, team-building activities, and employee recognition software to help distributed and hybrid companies keep their workforce productive and engaged. The company's technology focused on automating onboarding, employee appreciation, and team-building processes. In February 2023, WFHomie was acquired by GoCo.io, a Houston-based provider of HR, benefits, and payroll software solutions. As part of the deal, WFHomie's assets and three of its six staff members joined GoCo to accelerate product innovation in creating more engaging and data-driven workplaces.

The startup secured USD 1.9 million CAD in seed funding in late 2021 to fuel the growth of its employee engagement solution. WFHomie's acquisition by GoCo in February 2023 was seen as a strategic move to create an all-in-one HR platform, combining WFHomie's employee experience expertise with GoCo's core HR technology capabilities.
