UK-based Provenance offers a blockchain-based solution for businesses to communicate the environmental and social impact of their supply chains to customers. Provenance gathers information from suppliers, verifies them through independent third parties, and records them on a public blockchain. This information can then be published on online marketing channels of the business (such as e-commerce product pages, sustainability pages, third-party retailer websites, etc.) using an embed code. In September 2023 , the company launched an AI-powered tool, Sustainability Navigator, to provide marketers with tailored sustainability recommendations.

In November 2021 , Provenance partnered with GANNI, a Danish fashion brand, to increase the transparency of fabric sourcing. In December 2021 , the company partnered with Valpak, an environmental consultancy provider, and Waste and Resources Action Program (WRAP), a British recycling charity, to launch a tool to recycle packaging.
The company’s high-profile customers include Unilever, Cult Beauty, Napolina and Arla, among others. As of March 2024, over 200 brands and retailers had worked with Provenance.
