Electra is a French company that provides EV charging installation services in major and medium-sized French urban areas. The company aims to speed up the development of an EV charging network in the country with public fast charging points and expand its presence throughout Europe.
Its charging stations deliver power of 150kW to 300kW and allow a full charge in 10 to 30 minutes. Furthermore, the company has developed an app that allows users to be directed to the nearest charging station based on distance and traffic, book their station remotely, and then charge their vehicle and pay via the app. In March 2023, the company also launched Autocharge, a functionality on the app that allows EVs to be plugged in and charged automatically without the need for apps, charging cards, or bank cards.
As of January 2023, Electra had established 40 fast-charging stations across France, with a further 170 new stations planned for 2023. The company also expanded its operations to Belgium and Italy in 2022, with plans to begin operations in Switzerland and Spain in 2023.
