Nova Dynamics is a technology management company engaged in various projects including developing last-mile delivery droids. Its “Daxbot” droid development unit develops the “Dax” semi-autonomous sidewalk delivery robot. Dax can travel at a maximum speed of 4 mph and cover a range of 2.5–10 miles. The unit is designed with a temperature-controlled cargo area with a payload capacity of 22 lbs that is also capable of travel in snow and rain as well as in high and low temperatures (-20Cº - 40Cº). It uses treads to travel (instead of wheels), which facilitates traveling on snow and mud. The robot is also configured to interact and communicate with humans and uses GPS, cameras, and sensors for navigation.
The company pitches its service toward restaurants and grocery stores as well as businesses, senior living facilities, campus dining halls, resorts, golf courses, and other controlled spaces. It has deployed droids in locations including Oregon, Georgia, and California.
Key customers and partnerships
The company’s deployment partners include restaurant and food ordering platforms La Rockita, Dine.Direct, Philomath Subway, Dirt Road Brewing, and Western Oregon University.
Funding and financials
In September 2021, Daxbot launched a crowdfunding campaign and raised USD 429,000.
