Voyage Foods is a food technology company known for recreating foods using sustainable ingredients. The company's current product line includes peanut-free spreads and hazelnut-free spreads available at retail, as well as its cocoa-free chocolate and bean-free coffee, which are available as ingredients for other CPG food manufacturers and in the foodservice channel.

The Peanut-Free Spread is made from a seed blend (roasted sunflower kernels and grape seeds) and a grain & legume blend (chickpea flour, rice protein, wild rice). The Hazelnut-Free Spread includes a seed blend (roasted sunflower kernels and grape seeds), sunflower protein flour, and rice flour. Voyage Foods' chocolate is made from grape seeds and sunflower seed meal.

In October 2023, Voyage's Peanut-Free Spread and Hazelnut-Free Spread were on the shelves at over 1,200 Walmart locations across the US priced at USD 4.98 per 16 oz spread, bringing the total number of the company's nut-free spreads available at over 1,600 stores across the US. The company's nut-free spreads are also in-store at major grocers, including Sprouts Farmers Market, Fairway Market, Gourmet Garage, Mar-Val Food Stores, and Nugget Markets, as well as online on Amazon.

The company has a 25,000 sq ft research and processing facility in Oakland, California.

Key customers and partnerships

In February 2023, the company partnered with Dot Foods, a leading food industry redistributor, to bring the company's nut-free spreads to foodservice operators and consumers nationwide. Previously, in January 2023, the company partnered with PRESENCE, a leading natural products broker and service provider, to accelerate product growth in retail channels across the country.

In April 2024, Voyage Foods partnered with Cargill to develop sustainable alternatives to cocoa-based products and nut spreads. Additionally, Cargill became the exclusive B2B global distributor for Voyage Foods and planned to integrate the cocoa-free range into its portfolio.

Funding and financials

In its latest funding round in May 2024, the company raised USD 52 million backed by Level One Fund, Horizons Ventures, SOSV, and others. The funds were earmarked for scaling production and increasing the company’s immediate eco-friendly impact in the Food Tech domain.
