Halcyon

Halcyon is an anti-ransomware and cyber resilience platform with automated encryption key capture and autonomous decryption capabilities. The company’s platform leverages Capsule Networks (CapsNets) AI micro-models to train, test, and deploy protection mechanisms to address threats. The platform is designed to mitigate and counter both widespread and targeted ransomware attacks before they can execute or cause damage, using cutting-edge machine learning techniques trained exclusively on ransomware threats. 

The company uses several layers in order to prevent ransomware; if a single layer fails, Halcyon is able to respond accordingly. The company has further designed an autonomous isolation and recovery layer as a last resort for preventing the spread of ransomware. The platform can be deployed and managed entirely via API and is designed to be compatible with EPP/EDR/XDR, allowing organizations to deploy alongside existing solutions.

Key customers and partnerships 

In June 2023, the company formed a collaboration with Revelstoke Security to improve the efficiency of security operations teams. The partnership involved integrating the cyber resilience and attack prevention capabilities of the Halcyon platform with the low-code security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) functionalities offered by Revelstoke.

In May 2023, the company partnered with CISO Global to provide an integrated security offering to address ransomware and other cybersecurity threats.

Funding and financials 

In April 2023, the company raised USD 50 million in a Series A funding round led by SYN Ventures. The company planned to use the fresh funds to develop and test its ransomware resilience platform, which Halcyon claims is the first cybersecurity solution to be designed specifically to combat ransomware.
