Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) is an American multinational technology company that manufactures, designs and sells integrated digital technology platforms across the globe. Founded in 1968, Intel is the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturer , which has invested heavily in AI products and services since 2019. Intel generated revenue of USD 54.2 billion in 2023.
Intel is divided into five segments that offer a range of technological software, hardware and solutions. CCG (Client Computing Group) develops and produces PC and notebook processors, and generates the largest share of revenue by segment. DCAI (Data Center and AI) offers workload-optimized solutions such as Intel Xeon, Intel Agilex and Intel Stratix. The company’s NEX segment (Network and Edge) provides a range of products and services, including cloud networking and Intel Smart Edge. Intel’s Mobileye segment is responsible for self-driving solutions and driving assistance, while the IFS segment (Intel Foundry Services) has created an open foundry system that helps customers through multiple stages of defining and executing system architecture and manufacturing.
Geographically, Intel’s biggest customer base in 2023 was China, which accounted for 27% of total revenue, followed by the US (26%), Singapore (16%) and Taiwan (~13%). The company plans to invest up to EUR 80 billion across the semiconductor chain over 2022–2032 and expects to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.
