Founded in 2022, Zitcha is an Australian AdTech startup providing a retail media platform for retailers to sell their advertising space to brands across a variety of retail media channels. The platform was developed by The Pistol, a performance media marketing agency in Australia that was spun off as a standalone SaaS platform in early 2022. The firm’s supply-side ad platform (SSP) automates the process of buying and selling ads, provides real-time reporting, and creates personalized customer experiences without relying on third-party cookies.

The firm claims to be the only retail media platform that offers a unified platform across all media channels, which includes onsite (web, app, email), offsite (social media, search, programmatic ads), and in-store (digital displays, in-store radio, events, sampling, catalogs). In addition, unlike other SSPs that only limit ad inventory to premium users, Zeta’s self-service platform enables retailers to create campaigns with the flexibility to open all its media assets to all users. The firm claims its solutions deliver on average 7x return on ad spend (ROAS).

Key customers and partnerships

Zitcha platform is used by global brands such as Microsoft, LEGO, Asahi, Samsung, and Nestlé as well as retailers such as Adore Beauty, Liquor Legends, Noel Leeming, and the Warehouse Group. The firm also provides solutions for marketing agencies to collaborate with retailers on marketing campaigns.

Zitcha has entered into a number of partnerships including with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram), and marketing automation firms (The Trade Desk) to gain access to media channels and ad inventory. In March 2023, the company announced two partnerships: one with Qsic worldwide, a company specializing in AI-powered retail audio media, to provide innovative solutions to retailers by automating and streamlining in-store audio, and another with Grace & Co, a UK-based marketing consultancy firm, to help retailers utilize underutilized in-store and offline channels to reach customers and increase revenue. The firm is also recognized as an official business partner of Meta and Google and in November 2023 , Zitcha partnered with Meta to enable global retailers to tap into the off-site media market via Meta’s Managed Partner Ads (MPA). In May 2024, the company partnered with Venvee, a US-based company that uses spatial AI for retail media networks, to improve the precision and measurability of advertising campaigns.
