Based in India and the Netherlands, Cropin offers a range of software solutions under its “Cropin Apps” offering for farm monitoring, farm marketplace, and food traceability to players in the agriculture industry, including farmers, seed producers, food processing companies, and agri-input companies. The company’s farm monitoring solution offers features including crop detection, input usage monitoring, pest and disease alerts, and crop health monitoring to help farmers to digitize their cultivation process. In September 2022, the company launched Cropin Cloud, a cloud-based platform with integrated apps that would provide a variety of solutions throughout the food supply chain. Cropin Cloud has three sub-platforms: 1) Cropin Apps; 2) Cropin Data Hub, a platform that gathers data from different sources such as from its apps, IoT devices, drones, and satellites; and 3) Cropin Intelligence, a platform that uses proprietary deep-learning and AI models to provide metrics including yield estimates and harvest date predictions.

The company also reported that its annual recurring revenue was USD 15 million–25 million and that it had grown 2.5x over the past few years and expected further revenue growth through 2023 following the launch of Cropin Cloud. In July 2024, Cropin has partnered with Google Gemini to launch Sage, a real time GenAI-powered agri intelligence platform to help customers manage farms globally by predicting yields, disease and other key insights. Previoulsy in March 2024, The company has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Amazon Web Services (AWS) India enabling Cropin to build a solution to address the issue of global hunger and food insecurity.
In January 2023, Cropin raised INR 113 crores (~USD 14 million) in Series D funding with participation from new investors Google and JSR Corporation as well as existing investors ABC Impact and Chiratae Ventures. The company intended to use the funds to expand Cropin Cloud, the intelligent agriculture cloud platform launched in September 2022, to meet the growing demand for digitization and predictive intelligence in the global agriculture sector.
