Arctic Farming

Based in Finland, Arctic Farming offers fully automated plug-and-play portable aeroponic vertical farming modules for wholesale, retail, and restaurant applications. The vertical farming modules are equipped with smart technologies such as sensors, computer vision, and machine learning that automate growing and climate control processes. It also features a closed-loop water system that claims to reduce water usage by 95%. The modules can grow vegetables and berries and can be used in any indoor space that has access to water and electricity. 

As of July 2022, Arctic Farming had not commercialized its product but planned to launch in August 2022, targeting restaurants in Helsinki, Finland. The company has successfully validated its technology with more than a dozen crops including vegetables, herbs, and protein legumes such as soybeans following two years of research and development. 

In July 2022 , the company raised EUR 150,000 (~USD 152,922) in seed funding to support commercialization, product development, and international expansion efforts. Later in May 2023, the company raised EUR 350,000 (~USD 375,000) in an extended seed funding round from Heino Group and Norex International. The company aims to use the funds for commercialization, focusing on finalizing its first commercial product, and refining its vertical farming appliance to ensure seamless integration into HoReCa (hotel and restaurant sector) operations. The funding will also enable Arctic Farming to attract top talent, expand its team further, and support international expansion plans.
