Illinois-based KeyCare Inc provides a virtual care platform that allows health systems to reroute patients to independent virtual care providers across different specialities. The platform operates on Epic, an EHR software system for healthcare providers, and allows patients to schedule virtual consultations via their own health system’s “MyChart portal”, another tool on Epic, or through their call center. The visit is also carried out on the Epic platform. Since its launch in July 2022, the firm has partnered with BHSH System’s Spectrum Health West Michigan Division.

The company operates using a B2B model where it provides its platform to healthcare providers with plans to launch D2C services beginning fall 2022.

Key customers and partnerships

Historically, KeyCare has partnered with a variety of healthcare providers including Phelps Health, Lee Health, Remission Medical, Allina Health, and Memorial Healthcare System

Most recently, in November 2024, KeyCare partnered with Array Behavioral Care, a virtual psychiatry and therapy platform, to integrate mental health records with patients' physical health records. The partnership enabled Array's mental health providers to access patient medical records through Epic's system, allowing for coordinated care between mental and physical health services, particularly benefiting patients transitioning from hospital to post-acute care.

In July 2024, the company partnered with CentraCare to give patients access to 24/7 virtual urgent care visits across all 50 states through CentraCare's MyChart patient portal, leveraging KeyCare's network of virtual care providers working on the Epic platform.

In June 2024, the company partnered with Deaconess Health System, a health system serving patients across Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky, to roll out KeyCarel's virtual care platform across Deaconess' service area. The collaboration aims to deliver consistent, quality healthcare to Deaconess' patients through virtual consultations. Along with providing virtual urgent care to over 1.5 million Deaconess patients, this partnership also aims to include therapies for routine medical issues like colds, fevers, and urinary tract infections through telehealth services.

In March 2024, KeyCare partnered with Samaritan Health Services, a non-profit health network caring for over 265,000 patients in Oregon. Through the partnership Samaritan's patients could receive 24/7 virtual urgent care services fulfilled by KeyCare.

In February 2024, KeyCare expanded its partnership with WellSpan Health, a Pennsylvania-based health system, to focus on primary and behavioral health services. The initial partnership, initiated in February 2023, enabled the delivery of virtual urgent care to over 11,000 patients. Expanding the service lines allowed WellSpan's patients to schedule online appointments for primary care, psychiatry, therapy, and virtual annual wellness visits.
