SyncReality is a Germany-based company that provides an XR software suite that enables the creation of auto-adaptive content for AR and VR experiences. By scanning an object with a VR headset, SyncReality identifies the object, its dimensions, and creates a digital twin, effectively replacing the real object with a virtual one of identical size. This technology can be applied to an entire room, allowing XR assets to adapt to any environment. The software suite is particularly beneficial for AR and VR developers, as it allows them to create experiences with a single set of assets that can adapt to any room size or objects present. In October 2022, the company announced that an alpha version of its software would be released as a Unity plug-in, supporting the Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro VR headset.
One of SyncReality's applications, Home Design, allows users to overlay Real-Time 3D (RT3D) items onto their real-world homes, customize their headset's environment, and share their designs with friends. The app, set to debut on Apple’s Vision Pro headset, will also be compatible with iPhones and iPads. Users can purchase items for their augmented SyncReality Home Design space and potentially sell their designs to participating companies. The launch of Home Design also introduces the SyncReality Software Suite to upcoming devices, laying the groundwork for future collaborative and creative services. As of June 2023, the alpha tools and their usage were available free of charge.
In June 2023, SyncReality joined Deutsche Telekom and Qualcomm Technologies’ Hubraum Tech Incubator with a focus on digital twin solutions.
