Vision Products, initially established as the Vision Products Division of SA Photonics in 2009, was spun off as an independent business entity in 2021. Vision Products develops head-mounted displays (HMDs) and vision systems for commercial and government clients, including AR ,VR, and digital night vision systems. The company had developed seven AR HMDs as of January 2024, which include the PilotVision retailing at USD 27,000 for general and commercial aviation pilot usage. The HMD features a resolution of 1920x1080 with a 62° field of view (FOV), offering overlays for groundspeed, altitude, and terrain information. The display data is sourced from the iFly GPS EFB app, which offers various features such as IFR and VFR charts, georeferenced approach charts, synthetic vision, ADS-B receiver support, wind-optimized flight planning, and fuel prices.

Other AR devices include the SA-62/H monocular HMD with a 1920x1200 OLED microdisplay and a 62° diagonal FOV, the SA-62/SM, a lighter version of the SA-62/S headset with a monocle weight of 70 grams. The SA-83/S with a wider 83° diagonal FOV, the SA-92/S has an even wider 92° diagonal FOV, and the SA-147/S with a 3840 x 1200 OLED display and 147° diagonal FOV, which can be paired with a Vision Products backpack computer or ARP for augmented reality applications and natural scene-based head tracking. The Night Vision System (WNVS) has three night vision sensors and two eyepieces with OLED microdisplays that provide a screen resolution of 3000x1200, with a 90° diagonal FOV.

The company's VR headset portfolio includes three models designed for uses such as architectural planning, entertainment, chemical engineering, virtual prototyping, simulation, education, and academic research. These consist of the SA-36, which features a 1920x1200 display and 36° diagonal FOV; the SA-62 with a 62° diagonal FOV; and the SA-83, with a wider diagonal FOV of 83°.

In 2021, Vision Products generated over USD 6 million in revenue from its HMDs.

Key customers and partnerships

In July 2024, Vision Products delivered its first Army Aircrew AR Optics and Display System HMD to the US Army, designed to enhance situational awareness for rotorcraft pilots. The company also noted that its PilotVision HMD was utilized by the US Navy (October 2022).
