AIStorm is a semiconductor company, focusing on AI-in-sensor processors.AIStorm produces chips to enable artificial intelligence (AI)-in-sensor processing, which reduces latency, power, and cost by moving data processing to the device. Using “switched charge processing,” the chips can ingest and process data without digitizing it, thereby boosting the hardware’s efficiency. In collaboration with its partners, AIStorm targets multiple end uses, including imaging and audio, facial recognition, access control, and behavioral tracking.The company claims its chips can deliver 2.5 theoretical operations per second (TOPS) and 10 TOPS per watt, which is around 5-10 times less than the power draw of an average graphical processing unit (GPU)-based system.Key customers and partnershipsAIStorm's investors are also among its clientele.
