Passive remote monitoring company Know Labs (previously known as Visualant) develops real-time non-invasive monitoring solutions for diabetes and pre-diabetes patients.
The company has two products under development, 1) UBAND is a continuous glucose monitor, a wearable device built on its proprietary Bio-Radio Frequency Identification (Bio-RFID) technology, and 2) KnowU is an on-demand and on-the-go glucose monitoring device. Its proprietary Bio-RFID non-invasive diagnostic platform uses RF and can be used to identify different molecules in the body, with over 100 potential applications. In February 2024 , the company unveiled KnowU after the announcement of its prototype in June 2023 .
The patented and patent-pending technology uses radio waves and spectroscopy to detect changes in the body; as of January 2023, the company had ~90 patents and was yet to obtain FDA approval. The device connects to a smartphone app and would be priced at USD 99 with a USD 49 per month subscription fee.
Know Labs was listed on the NYSE in September 2022 under the ticker symbol “KNW”. For FY2023 , the company did not generate any revenue. Its net loss for the year amounted to USD 15.3 million (down 23.8% YoY).
