Based in China, Eplus3D offers a range of additive manufacturing solutions including 3D printers, materials, and related software. It offers three series of 3D printers, which include: 1) a range of powder bed fusion 3D printers for large format metal additive manufacturing (LFAM), 2) a range of selective laser sintering printers for plastic polymer materials, and 3) a range of stereolithography printers for resin printing. The company supplements its printer offering with corresponding AM materials, which include AM metal materials such as titanium alloys, stainless steel, and cobalt-chrome; plastic polymer material; and photosensitive resins.
Additionally, the company independently develops software to enable users to operate its printers. This includes data preparation software that enables users to assign and optimize process parameters for industrial 3D printing, printing control software, and a quality monitoring tool.
Notably, Eplus3D operates four facilities in Beijing, Hangzhou, Stuttgart, and Houston and reportedly invests over 20% of its revenue in scientific research. As of March 2024, the company held several invention patents, utility model patents, software copyrights, and appearance patents.
Key customers and partnerships
As of March 2024, the company exported its AM products to over 40 countries across Europe, the US, and Asia and served over 3,000 enterprise customers. The company primarily caters to the aerospace, automotive, healthcare, consumer goods, and precision manufacturing industries.
Eplus3D has partnered with a range of companies to develop its AM capabilities and expand internationally. In January 2024, Eplus3D partnered with Scheftner, a German dental product manufacturer, to integrate its printing capabilities with Scheftner's specialized metal powders to create dental products. In November 2023, the company entered a partnership with Prirevo, an AM solutions provider, to expand its market presence in Austria, and completed a joint operation with Eisenbacher Dentalwaren, to process the company’s “KeraS” metal powder on Eplus 3D's metal 3D printers to produce dental frameworks.
In July 2024, the company partnered with Grupo Hi-Tec to expand the potential market for its metal AM solutions in Mexico.
