Act-on is positioned as a complete marketing cloud solution for small and mid-sized firms, catering to both B2B and B2C marketing needs. Its rebranded and revamped growth marketing platform, launched in June 2020, offers a range of solutions covering the entire marketing stack from customer segmentation, landing page creation, personalized marketing automation, social media management, search engine optimization (SEO).

In November 2022, the firm introduced a new marketing automation network to enable users to manage multiple marketing requirements including for separate brands, divisions, regions, client accounts, and distributors at scale. In September 2023, the company released Act-On AI Predictive Lead Score, a feature that helps marketers prioritize leads with a higher propensity to convert.

According to product reviewers, the platform’s stand-out aspects are its ease of use and customer service. This is reflected in the firm being recognized by G2 as a leader in marketing automation software (Fall 2021).

Key customers and partnerships

Act-on caters primarily to the banking, finance, and insurance industries as well as manufacturing and marketing agencies. As of October 2021, the firm had 4,000+ customers including SHARP, AutoZone, RSA, and Spandex.

The firm also has a partner ecosystem including both sales partnerships as well as product integration partners. As of January 2023, 100+ firms including SimpleView, Marketing Guys, and Goose Digital were part of Act-On’s partner ecosystem. 

Funding and Financials

In March 2021, the company raised USD 20 million from several existing and new investors, including US Venture Partners (USVP), Technology Crossover Ventures (TCV), and Voyager Capital. The funding was a mix of equity and debt and will be funneled toward platform development.
