The Kraft Heinz Company (NASDAQ: KHC) is a multinational food producer co-headquartered in Pennsylvania and Illinois. Originally two separate companies, Kraft Foods and H.J. Heinz, they merged in March 2015, becoming the third-largest F&B company in the US and fifth-largest in the world. The company’s main operations include the manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and researching of its brands of sauces and condiments, dairy products, ambient, frozen and chilled foods, meats, coffee, infant products, desserts, and other food products. The company also produced a line of nuts and salted snacks, which included brands such as Planters, which was eventually sold for ~USD 3.4 billion in June 2021. As of March 2024 , the company had a portfolio of 24 brands, some of which the company produces under license agreements. Kraft Heinz generated a total revenue of USD 26.6 billion in 2023. 

Kraft Heinz’s product categories that contributed the most to its top line include condiments and sauces (~34%), cheese and dairy (15%), ambient foods, (~11%), frozen and chilled foods (11%), and meats and seafood (~9%). The company's other product segments collectively contributed 21% of Kraft Heinz’s revenue; however, individually, they each contributed an average of ~3% each. Revenue generated in the US during 2023 accounted for ~69% of the company’s sales.

Kraft Heinz has developed a four-point plan to drive growth in the medium to long term, including expanding its shelf footprint, increasing its marketing spend, creating new innovative products, and addressing supply chain issues. In addition, the company has set itself goals for environmental sustainability, healthier foods, and more responsible sourcing, some of which are in the early stages, while others have been completed. Kraft Heinz has also begun to integrate AI into both its sales and supply chains, transforming both operational aspects through AI-based insights and adding USD 30 million to the company’s top line in the process.
