Baidu, Inc. (Nasdaq: BIDU) is China's leading search engine and a global artificial intelligence company. Founded in 2000 by Robin Li and Eric Xu, Baidu is headquartered in Beijing's Haidian district. The company's name comes from a Chinese poem about searching for one's dreams amid distractions.

Baidu offers a wide range of internet-related services and products, with its core search engine as the foundation. Other key offerings include Baidu Baike (an online encyclopedia), Baidu Tieba (a social forum), Baidu Maps, Baidu Cloud, and iQIYI (a video streaming platform). The company has also invested heavily in artificial intelligence, developing technologies for autonomous driving, voice recognition, and natural language processing.

As of June 2022, Baidu's mobile app had 628 million monthly active users. The company dominates China's search market with over 60% market share. Baidu generated revenue of USD 19.54 billion in 2021, with the majority coming from online marketing services. Looking ahead, Baidu aims to further expand its AI capabilities and cloud services to drive future growth.
