BigID provides a platform that leverages advanced machine learning tools to help enterprises protect their data and comply with regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, etc. on a large scale. The company launched its patented Discovery-in-Depth technology during January 2020 to automatically discover different types and sources of data across an enterprise’s entire IT infrastructure. It expanded this technology in August 2020 by launching Hyperscan, a machine-learning-based scanning solution for large volumes of data that minimizes scanning time by 95%. The company also provides native data deletion features that allow organizations to delete personal and sensitive data across their data stores effectively. The feature allows organizations to purge duplicate and redundant data, minimize data before a cloud migration, initiate data deletion workflows based on data retention policies, and automatically address policy violations.

In March 2023, BigID released a native data privacy suite that allows enterprises to automate California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) compliance requirements across data inventory and mapping, privacy impact assessment, self-service privacy rights portal, automated DSAR fulfillment, and regulatory reporting by leveraging holistic privacy management.

In April of the same year launched “BigAI”, a large language model (LLM) designed to scan and classify data, leveraging machine learning and generative AI to organize data into tables, columns, and categories. The BigAI platform also includes a generative AI chatbot named “BigChat”, which provides data compliance advice through conversational Q&A. The company also launched a new AI-powered tool in November 2023 designed to automatically generate remediation instructions for data security and reduce the burden on security teams.

Additionally, it provides solutions concerning data subject rights management, consent management, privacy data protection impact assessments, third-party risk management, incident response, reporting, and monitoring.

The company had 235 employees as of December 2020 and has offices in the UK and Israel.
