PocketBook International, founded in 2007 in Ukraine, is a multinational company specializing in the design and manufacture of e-readers, multimedia readers, and Android tablets. The company relocated its headquarters to Lugano, Switzerland in 2012. PocketBook is the fourth largest manufacturer of e-readers globally, with products sold in 30 countries across Europe, CIS countries, Baltic States, Israel, Australia, and New Zealand. As of December 2013, PocketBook had sold 2,000,000 devices. The company's product line includes various e-reader models, with the latest being the PocketBook Era Color, featuring a 7-inch E Ink Kaleido 3 color e-paper display with a resolution of 1264×1660 (300 PPI) for black and white, and 632×840 (150 PPI) for color. PocketBook has expanded its offerings beyond hardware. In 2019, the company launched an e-book store in Ukraine, with plans to expand to other European countries, starting with Germany. The store offers thousands of e-books, with approximately 90% of the content in Ukrainian. PocketBook also developed projects such as KidRead, a time management application for children's device usage, and ReadRate, a book recommendation service. In 2023, PocketBook International acquired the domain name pocketbook.com after a legal dispute and out-of-court settlement with the previous owner, SiteTools, Inc.
