The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS) is a global entertainment company incorporated in 1923. Disney was ranked 53rd on the 2022 Fortune 500 list and generated revenue of USD 88.9 billion in FY2023 (year ended September 30). The company reorganized its business into three key segments in 2023: 1) Experiences (formerly known as Disney Park, Experiences and Products (DPEP); 2) Entertainment; and 3) Sports (formerly known as Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution [DMED], which has been reorganized into the Entertainment and Sports segments).

The Experiences division operates two lines of business, namely Parks & Experiences (including theme parks and resorts) and Consumer Products, which broadly covers the licensing of trade names and other intellectual property, as well as the sale of Disney merchandise.

The Entertainment division covers Disney’s activities associated with the production and distribution of its television and film content. Content distribution is conducted across three business segments (Direct-to-Consumer [DTC], Linear Networks, and Content Sales/Licensing) and is handled by one organization. Content production, on the other hand, is handled by the following four groups: Studios, Sports, General Entertainment, and International. The company is particularly known for its film studio segment, which includes Pixar, Marvel Studios, Walt Disney Pictures, and 20 Century Studio.

The Sports division oversees sports-focused global television and direct-to-consumer (DTC) video streaming content production and distribution, primarily through ESPN, of which the company owns 80%. Domestically, the segment includes eight ESPN-branded television networks, ESPN on ABC (ESPN's sports programming on the ABC network), and the ESPN+ DTC video streaming service. Internationally, the segment includes ESPN-branded networks outside the US.
