UK-based FitXR is a developer of VR- and MR-based fitness apps. The company’s first game BoxVR, available on platforms such as Meta Quest, Steam, and PlayStationVR, is a fitness-focused rhythm boxing game designed to achieve fitness goals. The platform also provides full-body daily workout routines curated by fitness experts in five distinctive categories - boxing, dancing, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), body sculpting and combat-inspired workouts. The latter two categories were added in January 2023, with the Sculpt studio focused on body conditioning while the Combat studio emphasized workouts which utilized different streams of martial arts.
The company claims to have developed the first ever virtual fitness club and also has a multiplayer feature that allows competing with other Meta Quest players. In March 2023, FitXR added a new pop music collection under its workout studios, and made its fitness content available for the Pico 4 and Pico Neo 3 VR headsets. In November 2023, the company added a Zumba Studio to its VR workouts, available on Quest heads.
Recent updates include the addition of a mixed reality mode for the Quest 3 and Quest 3S (October 2024), the addition of an AI workout assistant (August 2024) and the launch of its mixed reality gaming studio titled “Slam” in December 2023, featuring proprietary algorithms that transform a room into a 3D game, utilizing floors, walls, and ceilings for interactive fitness.
In 2023, the company surpassed 1,000 classes available on its platform, with users having collectively spent 33.5 million minutes working out on the platform.
FitXR operates a subscription-based model charging USD 13 per month.
