Medivis is a medtech company that offers two key AI-backed AR platforms; (1) SurgicalAR for surgical imaging and (2) AnatomyX, an AR anatomy lab and learning platform.
SurgicalAR is an AR platform that overlays 3D images onto patients for precise procedure planning in fields like neurosurgery, orthopedics, and reconstructive surgery. It processes patient-specific MRI and CT data in under 10 seconds, visualizing internal anatomy for applications such as oncology and trauma. Operable on Microsoft’s HoloLens 2, it uses hand gestures for interactive tools like cutting planes, cropping, and brush tools.
The company offers two workstation solutions: the SurgicalAR PRO Workstation and the SurgicalAR Mini Workstation. The PRO Workstation, designed for operating room applications features a 32” multi-touch display and is an FDA-approved solution with integrated hardware for holographic rendering of patient-specific data. The Mini Workstation, intended for ICU and bedside procedures, is a compact, FDA-approved solution that integrates a multi-touch 17" display.
AnatomyX is AR software for education, compatible with HoloLens 2 and Magic Leap headsets, featuring 5,000+ in-house designed 3D anatomy models. Key features include multi-user AR experiences, detailed anatomy data, and a custom portal for classroom management, quizzes, and progress tracking. Students using AnatomyX reported a 1–2 letter grade improvement, with 95% acknowledging enhanced learning.
As of January 2024, Medivis noted that multiple additional features for its platform were under development. These include a holographic cranial navigation system that uses three registration techniques to align CT and MRI imaging with a patient's body (in beta); a Spine Navigation system to assist surgeons in placing pedicle screws and interbody devices; and an ultrasound AR software for patient body imaging.
