Gennev provides telehealth services specializing in gynecology, primary care, and lifestyle behaviors, as well as natural wellness products and supplements that support mood, energy, stress response, immune health, joint pain, inflammation, and sexual wellness. Its specialty is in supporting mid-life conditions affected by women such as menopause. It provides access to information, health providers, and community for women seeking relief for hormone-driven symptoms like hot flashes, insomnia, anxiety, and loss of libido. A one-off video chat with a doctor at Gennev is priced at USD 55 for 20 minutes and USD 85 for 30 minutes; the monthly plan costs USD 85 that includes 2 appointments with a health coach per month and access to a doctor when needed.
In October 2022, the company was acquired by Unified Women’s Healthcare, a women-focused healthcare management firm, for an undisclosed sum. Unified Women’s Healthcare added Gennev’s offerings to its range of women’s health-focused companies and the acquisition was carried out to expand Unified's market reach, support, and complement its existing services. Gennev will continue to operate as an individual entity under the Unified Women's Healthcare brand.
Key customers and partnerships
In May 2023, Gennev announced that it had become an in-network provider for Aetna’s health plans across the US. Through the partnership, Gennev’s services were made available to most of Aetna’s commercial members. Gennev’s services covered included personalized consultations with obstetrics and gynecology specialists, health coaches, and dieticians, with most commercial members gaining access to these services with no need for prior authorization. However, Aetna’s Health Maintenance Organization plan members (HMO members) might require a referral for Gennev’s services.
