Aviva (LON: AV) is a British insurance company providing life insurance, general and health insurance, and fund management services. Aviva is the largest life insurer in the UK with a market share of ~23% as of December 2023. It has been listed on the  London Stock Exchange since 2002 and generated revenue of GBP 18.5 billion (USD ~21 billion) and GWPs of GBP 10.9 billion (USD ~14 billion) in 2023.

Aviva operates under three main business segments: The General insurance and health segment is the largest (~59% of insurance revenue in 2023) and offers insurance coverage for individuals and businesses. The Long-term business segment (~41%) comprises life insurance, long-term health and accident insurance, savings, pensions, and annuity businesses. The Fund management segment engages in fund management services for both policyholders and shareholders while offering investment management services to institutional pension fund mandates. 

As of 2023, Aviva has approximately 19.2 million insurance customers in the UK, Ireland, and Canada. Aviva’s financial targets over 2024–2026 include 1) GBP 2 billion of adjusted operating profit by 2026; 2) GBP 1.8 billion Solvency II operating own funds by 2026; and 3) over GBP 5.8 billion in cumulative cash remittances by 2024–2026. The company is committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2040.
